Good Country Getaway

long driveway warm welcome fresh water
I was charmed to see the main house upon arrival down that long driveway. Giles and Harriet gave us a warm welcome. I needed some milk and fresh water each day, and they provided it. They also brought us a bottle of tomato sauce!
The staircase made me uncomfortable without shoes. I think better insulation could help.
Rooms
9/10
The hotel was spacious with a lovely layout that included a spiral staircase. I saw that toiletries and towels were available. There were board games, books and a television available.
Location
10/10
The hotel provided a very peaceful location with views of colourful birds and squirrels. I clearly saw stars at night from the window. A short drive took us to several restaurants in the nearby area.
Facilities
8/10
The tennis courts were an added bonus. I also noticed camping chairs for sitting on the lawn. The garden has a trampoline. I found the setting beautiful with lovely walks nearby.
Dining
9/10
Though there is no kitchen, I had access to a fridge and a microwave, that was useful. Harriet was happy to wash anything, for us. There were good takeaways in the nearby area.

Idyllic Lodge Getaway

warm welcome fresh milk clear stars
I admired the historic lodge with character! We were welcomed so warmly. The hosts gave attention to our needs. They offered fresh milk and water daily. We enjoyed Andover restaurants. The stars were visible from the window above our bed.
The lodge had no kitchen sink! We had to use the bathroom sink for water. It was hard to wash dishes. A downstairs sink would have made a big difference.
Rooms
9/10
The two-bedroom apartment felt spacious and well-decorated. Comfortable beds. The rooms were equipped. We had all we needed for a short break.
Service
10/10
Harriet was great. She brought milk immediately upon our arrival! She provided extra plates. The hosts accommodated our washing up and other needs with a smile!
Location
9/10
The lodge setting was peaceful and lovely. The drive through the village showed thatched houses. There were beautiful walks available.

A Nice Stay

warm welcome peaceful location attentive host
I enjoyed driving down the long driveway to the main house. Harriet offered a warm welcome and showed genuine interest in. She provided fresh water daily and even tomato sauce for our takeaway. The location was peaceful. I observed colourful birds and squirrels in the garden.
The carpets in the living room seemed stained, and some of the lamps did not work reliably.
Service
9/10
Harriet was attentive from the start and offered us milk upon arrival! She promptly provided extra plates and was willing to assist with washing up if needed. Her attentiveness.
Facilities
8/10
The hotel included tennis courts, a trampoline, and a garden for guest use. I found the spacious two-bedroom layout with its unique spiral staircase appealing. The setting was tranquil.
